twitter.

Yes. I joined.

No. I don't love it...

Yet.

I decided to bring back my twitter after over a year off. I'm still iffy about it but it's actually a bit entertaining. I hate that you say @user because, well, you don't talk at someone you talk to them. I do, however, enjoy the fact that its like a secret world for me. Sure, people can see what I post, but my posts are private meaning I have to accept you and I have WAY fewer people following me than I have friends on Facebook. I'm able to say what I'm thinking and not have to worry about the backlash of someone seeing it and getting upset. No, I'm not bashing individuals, but I do get upset with situations and need to vent. Its an easier way to let people I want to vent to know what's going on (in 140 characters or less). I also love the fact that I can access it through my BlackBerry. I love anything that I can use via both my computer and phone. I also enjoy the fact that you can follow celebrities. Though it doesn't make me friends with them, its fun to see what they're up to. Do I recommend Twitter? Not really. Its a lot of unnecessary information but in the end... isn't that what technology is all about nowadays?

As for my life, Max leaving tomorrow. It turns out I am allergic to her but it went unnoticed because I had been giving her baths so her dander hadn't built up. Now that she's had some time to groom herself, I'm finding myself with watery, itchy eyes and a scratchy throat. I've been using Claritin to ward off the symptoms.

Wednesday night, I had dinner with Blake and Christina... buddies from the Junior High days. It was really nice to catch up with them. So much has happened in the past years. I really do long for those days sometimes.

Still loving work but sometime the tenants can be so frustrating. We've had this crazy mom who... 18 days since move-in... has still not left her son. He's in college! He should be able to live alone. Nope... she has not left his side. Supposedly she's leaving soon but who knows how soon "soon" actually is. Well... she called in today complaining because the space above the cabinet over the stove was never fully dusted. Really? Firstly, who cares. Secondly, WHO CARES?!? I'm just done with the craziness of work.

38 days till Panamá! I can't wait. With each day it gets closer and closer yet it feels further and further away. I'm just itching to go. Dave pretty much has his house set. There are just a few more things that he has to do to get the place ready. I'm so excited to see it and him.

interviews and telenovelas.

As you may or may not know, I'm applying to nursing school. There are so many schools on my list but my top choice - Samuel Merritt University. I'm specifically interested in the Entry-Level MSN Case Management program at their Sacramento campus. Looks like I'm one step closer to being accepted! I have an interview this Friday at 9 am. Hopefully they fall in love with me and accept me! This is my dream program. I'll be able to get my RN in 16 months and then start working while finishing up the Masters portion of the program. SMU has two tracks for the ELMSN program - Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Case Manager (CM). I'm choosing CM for a few reasons. First, for anyone who knows me, I like to be behind the scenes. Of course I want to be a nurse and work bedside, but I like the idea of running around talking to everyone (doctors, families, insurance companies, pharmacies, etc.) making sure everything runs smoothly for each patient from beginning to end. I'll be the one who makes sure the patient is receiving the proper care. It's kinda cool because I know my communication background will come in handy. Also, I like that CMs are previous nurses. Each hospital is different in their requirements but I believe it's at least 2 years floor experience if you're gonna apply to a CM position. I think I'd stay on the floor for MUCH longer than that but like knowing I'll be able to do more. In the end, I know that I'd enjoy being a CM and do a good job at it!

Starting today, I will be watching telenovelas like no other. I've already set the DVR! I'm currently watching "Por Amor." From what I gather, someone got shot and there's a love triangle. Yea, I'm not doing a good job of watching. But give me a break! I'm just learning Spanish, currently writing this blog, and I don't know the characters yet! Yeesh, I'm lost for an episode or two when it comes to Days of Our Lives if I haven't watched in a few months. Haha. I'm sure I'll have better updates soon enough! There's also this show called "Veredicto Final" that looks really interesting. It's basically "Judge Judy" but with a lot more yelling back and forth. Yes, I've set a series record for it too! New cool show "La Viuda de la Mafia." Yes, I'm enjoying this new world of Spanish drama. :)

Finally, I'm thinking about keeping kitten. I've named her Max because she has a random patch of white hair on her right hind leg that reminds me of Mr. Maxwell Sheffield from "The Nanny." Mick and Max are pretty ok at getting along. He still walks away from her but she's developed an interest in his tail. Jim is a different story. He's finally able to be calm around her but that's only if he's under constant surveillance. This morning, he was calmly sniffing her while I was petting him and she even started to rub up against him and pur. And then I stopped petting him and he lunged at her. He later trapped her under the papasan chair and when she saw her chance for escape he chased her behind the couch. Luckily, her favorite hiding spot just so happens to be under the couch where he's too big to get to. He started to run around the couch looking for her and then gave up. The other night, I got to Skype with Dave for the first time in a LOOOOOOONG time. Sad part: we couldn't use our speakers because his roomie was asleep (he was in Panama City for some appointments and spent the night at a hostel there). Happy part: I got to see him in real time!! And, he got to see Max. She was running around on the couch and looked at him and then she fell asleep next to the computer. Below is a picture from that night.

kitten.

Below are some photos of the new kitten Tiff brought home about a half hour ago. She was brought into the clinic where Tiff works yesterday. She's too cute. Super quiet but still playful. We're testing her out to see if I'm allergic to her or not. If I'm not... I may just have a new kitten! Oh, there's a pic of Mick too. He's too funny around her. All he does is stare and slowly move AWAY from her.
