Last week was a pretty awesome week. I worked on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday which is nothing unusual or special by any means. The great thing was that since it was Yom Kippur, Dave took off work Tuesday and Wednesday and was home! Home in the middle of the week! And Friday was his flex day, so he was home for a grand total of three days! The same three days that I was off of work. Pretty awesome, right?
We went to temple in Maryland - my first time going to temple since undergrad when Dave took me and a few other friends to service one Friday night. I'll admit I got lost more than once with what was going on but I loved the fact that most prayers had an English translation so that I had some clue.
We also spent time just hanging out and enjoying the fact that he wasnt at work. We went to the movies, got groceries, hit up the gym, and had some Shake Shack for the first time. Now this is a big deal for us because we determined their burgers are better than In n Out's. I know this is blasphemy for some of you. Don't get me wrong, I love my animal style fries and neapolitan milkshakes but I've never been a fan of their burgers. Even though they're seemingly healthier than McDonald's or Burger King, I still feel icky after eating one. Not so with the shack burger. It was so light and airy. I recently found a recipe to replicate it and can't wait to try. Oh, and their coffee milkshake is pretty bomb diggity too.
Wow, didnt think this post would turn into a burger review.
We also went to the shooting range! Dave is really interested in getting into hunting but had never shot a gun before. He's even more excited now. If you have any hunting tips, pass them our way!
I've been at work the past two days and therefore have been slightly dead to the world (12.5 hour shifts have a way of doing that to a person). In an effort to increase my bank account, I'm still working for the nanny agency that I was with when I first moved out here. I'm writing this post from a couch where I'm working as a babysitter for an incredibly sweet tot. She naps. I blog.
Nats game tonight if we dont get rained out (did you hear they clinched last night?) and back to work tomorrow.
I've got tons to update with about the past month or so. I promise to get around to it on Thursday... Maybe even tomorrow night if I'm not too tired.
