madness.

I'm so excited for March Madness! This is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. Ever since 2009, my heart skips a beat when I hear about college basketball. I have to admit that once upon a time I dreaded this time of year because it meant Dave would have basketball on the tv for what seemed like an eternity. Then, in 2009, Greg (Dave's brother) invited us to go to Vegas with him and some friends to watch the beginning of the tournament. I wasn't too sure what to expect but was excited to go to Vegas. I figured I'd find a way to have fun in that crazy city. We ended up spending a lot of time at the theater at Paris hotel where they had all of the games going on four separate projectors with plenty of cushy seating (This was key! Most places ended up running out of seating or the chairs weren't as comfortable). I honestly think this is what made it such an exciting experience. Plus, I made friends with guys from Kentucky and placed my first Vegas bet (Marquette to beat Mizzou). Sadly, I lost that one due to a little mistake by one of the players. I do go for them every year now praying for redemption. The photo above is actually the first image I posted on this blog (taken at Paris) and it shows the beginning of my love affair with college basketball. Oh, Blondie's at Planet Hollywood was a great place to watch also! I just submitted my bracket for Dave's dad's work pool! I won't tell you my picks but I think they're pretty good.
