Every now and then life throws something your way. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, almost always something you are forced to adjust to. No matter what it is, make sure to cherish each moment and find the silver lining when it seems like there is none. I have been fortunate enough to have amazing blessings and wonderful people in my life. I am so thankful for each person that I come in contact with and hope that each one of you knows that.
Over the past couple weeks, I've been lucky enough to spend time with family and friends. Though the circumstances weren't always the best, I'm so grateful to be a part of a wonderful community.
To the woman who helped raise me, who was a second mother to me, who always let me know how proud me of she was... I love you. I love and will miss you every day. Rest in peace, Mommy Wilma.

Hey Maria! I love your blog and so glad I came across it via Running in Heels. I'm Brittanie over at Three Bracelets, and I left the Northwest for a change of pace to live/try out life in the east! I'm 45 min. away from DC and love it there!
