the first of many dc posts. many.

Dave's view from the plane... Somewhere in America.

So as you may or may not have heard, Dave has been offered a position with the Fish and Wildlife Service in DC! We're both beyond excited about this experience and the journey it holds for us. We found out a little less than a month ago - December 16th to be exact (easy to remember because it was the last day of the semester and the day that I drove to SD). Then we went into the frenzy of trying to figure out logistics - where will he live, where will WE live, when will I move out there, what we want to bring in the move, and how to manage the pets during this. For me, the uber-planner/must-know-all-the-details-right-away-nut, I wanted all the answers right away... I guess this is a good experience for me though, learning to wait and see... and wait and see... and wait and see. I promise I'm getting better at it as each day goes by.

Well, Dave arrives in DC today. Currently, he's on his connecting flight from Philly to DC. The lovely photo above is from the first leg of the trip this morning. He's there to search for a place to live - again causing questions... Does he live in a share? Does he take the place thats cheaper but lots further? The place thats furnished? The place that offers a 6 month lease thats cheaper even though he doesn't need it for that long? We're trying to plan it all around the fact that I'm moving out there at the beginning of June - right after my graduation (Yes! I'm FINALLY graduating from grad school. FINALLY!). Can't wait to see pictures of what he decides on! And to visit him the week of Valentines Day. 

He heads back to SD Thursday and then comes up to Sacramento Friday for the holiday weekend. So excited to get to see him before his BIG MOVE. He'll be road tripping it across the country with a friend from PC who lives in NC.
