thanksgiving and internet gems.

Getting ready for our 5k
Hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration filled with family, friends, and delicious food! I was so so fortunate to have Dave fly up and celebrate with us - can't wait until we're able to spend every holiday together! Thankfully, we'll be spending a decent chunk of December together. :)

Our turkey day celebration consisted of us running our first 5k followed by a bunch of food prep and family time. We did... decently on the run. My race prep consisted of no running, so I was not as prepped as Dave. He on the other hand, was very ready for the run. He was such a sweetheart though, hanging back with me - jogging slowly and sometimes in circles to wait for me. Either way, it was entertaining and we can't wait to do more... this time with me doing a bit more prep! The rest of the weekend consisted of us doing Christmas shopping, visiting with friends, and the city of Rodeo Christmas . Good good times.

My cousin, Raiza, just flew in from the Philippines this past Wednesday to stay! She's visiting us for a week and then will be heading to Missouri to live with her older sister and mom. How exciting!! Dave and I talk about moving to another country every now and then, but I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to do so. Having family in the place you're going to must definitely help.

Extra little fun tidbit. I saw Selena Gomez shopping last night at the Natomas Target. It was an entertaining 5 minutes of my night chatting with my cashier and the guy ahead of me in line. His son went up to take a picture with her so we watched the events unravel. Her friend very rudely told the little guy that he couldn't take a photo with her, but she happily obliged him. In your face, rude friend! To all those who are wondering... yes, she's just as gorgeous in real life and her hair is definitely as shiny! And sadly... no Biebs. Oh, she was in town for Jingle Ball... I doubt she comes to Sacramento for fun. Hahaha.

Now for the part of this post I'm really excited about... internet gems that have entertained me the past few days.

1. This is some random ringtone that supposedly only people under 20 (or 25) can hear... It's a high pitched, mosquito-like sound. Supposedly kids in high school use it so that they can use their phones without the instructors knowing. Word of warning, if you listen and are able to hear it... be prepared for it to be really high-pitched and not too pleasant.

2. A heart-warming story that you might enjoy from a few years ago.

3. Texts from Bennett. Texts written by a white boy who thinks he is ghetto... posted by his cousin. Oh me, oh my. Hilarious. "...Bennett is a boss hog gangsta" http://textsfrombennett.tumblr.com/

And now... pics! Sidenote: my documentation of the weekend was not as stellar as it should've been. Sorry!

Our bibs and my medal... his went missing for a few days. Wooops.
