| Mom and Dad renewing their vows |
Mondays consisted of lecture and then heading to the hospital to pick a patient to care for. I'd gather information on the patient, head home, and do a care plan. It usually took 4 hours to complete - not too bad. Tuesday and Wednesday consisted of waking up at 5, meeting up with my carpool at 6, being at the hospital at 6:20, caring for patients from 7-3, and then going home to rest. No school on Thursdays, but I did have work in the afternoon. Fridays had class in the morning and work in the afternoon. I spent almost every weekend in the Bay prepping for Mom and Dad's wedding (more details on that later). Because I'd be so tired during the week, my studying would be saved for the weekend. Because I'd be so busy with wedding prep, my studying was saved for Sunday night. Every week. You think I would've gotten it together, but I didn't. Oh well. I made it through happily! Hoping for more success in the schedule arena next semester.
Oh! This is the last week of the semester. :) I have my last class today. Usually it starts at 9:30, but today we're only meeting for an hour at 11:30. We'll receive our take-home final which I hope to complete by Sunday. Then I have a final for my other class on Monday. HOOOOOOOOME STRETCH!
Wedding time. Each weekend was filled with designing and printing the different accents. Mom and I made each piece. I did all the paper details and she made the dresses and arranged the flowers. The week of the wedding, we ended up having 18 people staying at our house (yes, I stayed in the bay during the week except for when I had to be in class). Though it was definitely crazy to have that many people, it worked out in terms of getting stuff done. My Ate Laura and Mommy Wilma helped my Mom put the flower arrangements together and my Ate Cecile helped me finish the last paper details. My Ate Marichelle helped my parents bring everything to the site.
The wedding itself was beautiful. The day was filled with family, friends, delicious food, and gorgeous surroundings. I'd talk more about it but words cannot do the day justice. Below are a few photos from the day.
After my final exams are completed, I'll be spending the week in the bay with family. My cousins from London leave on the 13th (the whole family is currently in Las Vegas and will be returning to the bay on Tuesday - perfect timing!) so I want to spend as much time with them as possible.
THEN!!!!!!!!
It's off to Panamá! I'm so excited. I can't wait to see Dave again. Even though we talk every day, not being able to see each other is tough. Ron is going with me this time and we'll only be there for ten days - but it'll still be an amazing time. We're going to climb Volcan Baru on the 21st with some of Dave's PC friends and three of my classmates who will be participating in a medical mission in Panamá (that I plan on participating in next April).
SOOOOOOO excited!
The next semester begins August 30th and I'll be taking Critical Care, Pediatrics, and Labor & Delivery. Should be interesting! I'm already half way through my RN portion. :D
Lots of love!!
