| Ariel, Kim, and me on a fun "date night" at Wing Stop |
February was a blur. Literally. It was my month of procrastination. What else can I say? I spent many night-before-the-deadline hours: (a) cramming in the multitude of drugs included in psychopharmacology; (b) completing needless assignments ranging from how nurses are portrayed in the media to different types of culturally related health beliefs; and (c) trying to figure out what to study for my exams because the study guides made no sense. Yea, February was a fun month. Not to say it wasn't a good month though. I absolutely enjoyed it, I just could've done without the procrastination that I set myself up for.
Here's a few pictures of the past couple of months.
The beginning of the March started with just a bit of anxiety. Though I wasn't stressing out, I was anticipating a HUGE month of stress. My friend who is a year ahead of me in the program told me that March was a month that never ended - quiz after quiz after exam after paper after quiz. Also, I had set up my March assignments calendar and it was PACKED. At least three things each week. So yea, I was just a tad bit anxious about it. Just before the month started, I ran into a childhood friend who is now teaching (I think I've mentioned her previously... my friend Amy who is doing the penpal program with Dave and his Panamanian students). She was talking about how March was the month with no holidays for her students so she was anticipating some stir-crazy encounters. I remember how deeply I despised the month of March as a kid for that reason of absolutely zero days off. Luckily for me, the month flew by. Many assignments and quizzes were had - all studying and preparation completed days beforehand. Hopefully the month was as easy for her and her students as it was for me.
March also means March Madness. In a previous life, I wouldn't have cared at all. But ever since last year and my venture with Dave and his brother, Greg, to Las Vegas to watch the first round... I love it! I had my bracket set and watched the games whenever I could. I must boast that my first round picks were better than Dave's, though from the second round on, my picks were not the best. It was fun though to share that with Dave. Since he can't watch the games, I'd call him during the last few minutes of a close game and recap it for him.
One thing that wasn't so good about this month... I got sick. I was the only person in my little group of friends at school that hadn't gotten sick. Wednesday morning, I felt really ill and was hugging the porcelain god more than once. Thursday morning, I was feeling a bit better and went to school. When I got there, I found out another of my friends had gotten sick. Everyone blamed me. Not in a mean way, but in a way that said "Go home, get healthy, and don't make anyone else sick." Well, I went home and slept the day away. The next day, I had an exam in Mental Health. I went to school, took the exam, and headed straight home afterward. Since then, I haven't done much. Spent the whole weekend inside the house. Friday, after the exam, I watched the movie "She's Out of My League." Pretty funny. I highly recommend it. Saturday, I watched "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" "The Bounty Hunter," and "Motherhood." I enjoyed all of them. Today, I was feeling better so mom and dad drove up and took me to lunch. On the way to lunch, my stomach started to feel upset again. We went to Panera where I got a chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl. I tried to eat it, but didn't get as much down as I wanted. The parentals took me home and I spent the rest of the day drinking water, eating soup, and watching more movies. On the list for today? "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee" and "Dear John." Again, I recommend these movies. I really should've worked on a paper that I have due April 7th, but I figure being ill granted me a little exception.
Now for April! Easter is this coming weekend. I'm excited to go home and celebrate another holiday. I'm hoping to set up a mini egg hunt for my cousins' kids. Then the best part of April... My birthday!!! Not only will I turn 24 on April 13th, but Dave will be coming up to Davis! He flies into San Diego on April 8th and will spend a few days with his family before driving up here with Garrison. It will be my last week of school and should be pretty relaxed. That Saturday is Picnic Day. You know what that means... 6 a.m. $1 beers at The Grad, the Band-uh!, and lots of fun running around Davis. After Picnic Day, Dave, Garrison, and I are gonna drive down to Greg's and hang out for day before heading to San Diego. I'll be in San Diego for pretty much a day before flying back to study for my Mental Health final which is that Friday. Phew! So much exciting stuff will be happening.
Here's a few pictures of the past couple of months.
